The Pharmacy Technician 600-hour program, which includes and requires 160 externship hours, teaches students the delivery of pharmaceutical services alongside licensed pharmacists in a pharmacy setting. The program teaches medical terminology & abbreviations, pharmacy law & ethics, quality customer service, pharmacology, preparing prescription medications, sterile compounding, and administrative duties.

    Upon completion of the program, students may test to receive Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification.


    Education attained through the Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for positions in industry such as Pharmacy Technician in a community pharmacy, hospital, long-term care facility, compounding pharmacy, mail-order insurance companies, sales, and education*.

    The Pharmacy Technician program is a Federal Student Aid eligible program. Students should complete their FAFSA with our Federal School Code: 042472. This program is also approved by the Arizona State Approving Agency for GI Bill® Education Benefits.
