PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Dental Assisting program prepares students to assist medical professionals with dental examinations, sterilize and prepare instruments, polish teeth, take and develop X-rays, and take impressions of teeth.
Apart from the core curriculum, learners are trained for the job-seeking process through mock interviews, resume building workshops and hands-on clinical experience. During the program, accommodations and modifications are provided to high school students based on the IEP/504.
After completion of the two-year program, successful candidates will be prepared to seek one or more certifications like the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Radiation Health and Safety Certification. Through this dental assistant program and certification, students enter into the health services field.
