WHAT IS PROJECT SEARCH?

Project SEARCH is a Faster Way Forward for individuals who have completed high school and have a disability that is a barrier to employment. 

This is a one academic year unpaid internship that prepares individuals with disability for success in competitive, integrated employment. Individuals who are in plan with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) may receive tuition assistance.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Project SEARCH is designed for individuals with disabilities who have barriers to employment. All applicants must have a desire for competitive, integrated employment and the completion of the program.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility requirements vary based on an applicant’s age and high school completion status.

Applicants Under Age 22
Applicants who are under 22 years of age must have graduated from high school with a standard high school diploma to be eligible.

Applicants with Alternative High School Completion Credentials
Applicants who graduated or completed high school with a GED, modified diploma, Certificate of Attendance, or Certificate of Completion must be at least 22 years of age to be eligible.

Applicants Over the Age of 28
The program is generally designed to serve young adults aged 28 and under. Applicants over age 28 may also be considered in accordance with the individual program site’s eligibility criteria, capacity, and discretion.
