ENERGY OPERATIONS

West-MEC's 1-year Energy Operations program prepares students for careers in the rapidly growing energy and utilities industry by providing a strong foundation in electrical systems, power generation, energy distribution, industrial safety, and utility operations. Students explore traditional and renewable energy sources, electrical fundamentals, power transmission and distribution, equipment maintenance, instrumentation, and energy efficiency while gaining an understanding of the technologies that power homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. The program emphasizes workplace safety, troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and the operational procedures used throughout the energy sector.

Through hands-on learning experiences, students work with industry-standard equipment and technologies to develop practical skills in electrical systems, control systems, mechanical operations, and preventive maintenance.
