West-MEC's Adult Education Welding Technology program provides 900 clock-hours of competency-based education and training for a successful entry into the welding industry. This program covers essential welding techniques, such as SMAW (Stick Welding), GMAW (MIG Welding), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), GTAW (TIG Welding), and Oxy-fuel cutting. These skills are highly valued in various sectors like pipeline construction, shipyards, power plants, aerospace, and structural engineering.

Upon completing the program, completers may test* for industry-recognized welding certifications, enhancing their employability credentials across multiple fields. 

*Test fees are the responsibility of the student

CAREER PATHWAYS*

The Welding Technology program completers will gain transferable skills important to a broad spectrum of entry-level welding careers, such as:

  • Structural Welder
  • Welding Supervisor
  • Manufacturing Welder 
  • Iron Worker 
  • Pipe Fitter

FUNDING RESOURCES

The Welding Technology program is eligible for Federal Student Aid. Students should complete their FAFSA with our Federal School Code: 042472. This program is also approved by the Arizona State Approving Agency for GI Bill® Education Benefits.
