Dental Assisting
West-MEC's Adult Education Dental Assisting program provides hands-on experience and foundational knowledge for anyone aspiring to become a professional dental assistant. With a 180-clock-hour required externship, students gain real-world experience working in dental practices, preparing for various roles in the dental field.
This comprehensive program will train you to assist dental professionals with:
- Dental examinations and patient care
- Sterilizing and preparing dental instruments
- Performing coronal polishing procedures
- Taking X-rays
- Taking impressions of teeth
By the end of the program, students can seek industry-recognized certifications* such as the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Radiation Health and Safety Certification and the Coronal Polish Certificate, increasing their qualifications and employability.
