Aviation Maintenance Technology

The West-MEC Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program teaches students the maintenance and repair of aircraft mechanical systems, including turbine and reciprocating engines, aircraft finishes, sheet metal, welding, landing gears, hydraulics, propellers and much more.

Upon completion of the program, students may test for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) General, Airframe and Powerplant certification.

CAREER PATHWAYS

Education attained through the Aviation Maintenance Technology program prepares students for the positions in the industry such as  Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics or Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT)*.

FUNDING RESOURCES

The Aviation Maintenance Technology-Airframe & Powerplant program is a Federal Student Aid eligible program. Students should complete their FAFSA with our Federal School Code: 042472. This program is also approved by the Arizona State Approving Agency for GI Bill® Education Benefits.
